My Charmed Wife – Handstamped Mixed Metal Family Necklace
It’s a good time to start thinking about Mother’s Day gifts. Being a Mom myself I have always wanted a Mother’s Necklace. But most I find don’t appeal to me. I want something more creative. I am guessing I’m not the only one that feels this way. So I did a search to try to unearth some more unique choices. This time I decided to keep my search local. To me that means good ol’ St. Louie, so these are all St. Louis based artists. What do you think? Do any of these necklaces look interesting to you?

It’s time for another Fun Finds. And here is one of my favorites. A couple of years ago I ran across Katie Daisy’s work and fell in love. When I look at her work it gives me a sense of calm and positive energy. Like a good friend giving you words of advice or a stranger with a kind word. The art she creates by hand is mixed with my great love for typography and her work just plain makes me happy. Her alphabet print hung in Lucy’s baby nursery until we turned it into my office. It still hangs here as the piece is so versatile that it works just as great for a designer’s office as it does for a baby’s room. You can find more of her work at www.katiedaisy.com. Let me know what you think.

When I was a kid I wanted glasses so badly. I thought if I sat in front of the TV close enough it would cause me to need them. I was so excited when I was in 3rd grade and they told me I needed them. Woohoo! I did eventually find out that glasses aren’t exactly a picnic. But the fun part about them is the different styles you can choose from. I always wanted glasses like Lisa Loeb. She always made glasses look cool. And when these vintage specs caught my eye they kind of reminded me of her. The shop is Vintage Optical Shop and they sell tons of these vintage frames. How fun it would be to have a pair of these for myself. As you’ve seen in earlier posts I just love vintage. And these are way cool. But which one to choose, that’s the hard part.
So tell me, what was your favorite (or least favorite) eyeglass trend? Any you are embarrassed to admit you wore? Share with us here. Till next time…

Today’s Fun Find came to me in my weekly Etsy email. I saw this photo of this beautiful underpinning and just fell in love. Extra little touches like this are what get me excited. I think that is what makes life interesting, those extra little surprises. They may be small but they add so much. Giving life to something that may have seemed ordinary, expected or typical. So when I saw this underpinning I had to see where they came from and what other surprises they had in store. You can find them in the Etsy store Swank Underpinnings. So what do you think of these underpinnings? Till next time…

Since we are quickly approaching Valentines Day I did a little search to see what I could find. These embroidered hearts caught my eye. Not your typical Valentine’s hearts, but perhaps that was why I was drawn to them. These were created from an embroidery kit by Prints Charming and featured on www.apartmenttherapy.com. I so love the fun embroidery on these. What do you think?
On a recent visit to Chicago, to visit family, I ran across these coffee mugs. I don’t know why I am so drawn to them, but I am. Perhaps, it’s the simple lines of the yellow coffee mug and the whimsy of the Bailey’s mugs. What ever it was, I continually grabbed that yellow cup every time I had my coffee. I wanted to share them with you here. Till next time…
Sometimes as I forage through the web I run across cool or interesting things. I’ve decided I would share some of these with you from time to time. Here is my first find.
This apron by Lover Dovers Clothing almost makes me want to learn to cook just so I can wear it. Also a great apron for cooking Thanksgiving Dinner in! Love the retro feel.
